"The drill prescribed herein is designed for general use and may be adapted to any type of unit; therefore some of the explanation is of a general nature which gives sufficient latitude for adaptation to specific units. Chapters include topics on the soldier with and without arms, drill for foot troops, drill for units with animal-drawn carts or pack animals and units with motor carriers, drill for motor and wagon units, formations of the battalion and regiment, ceremonies, extended order, and signals."
